How did it begin?
“We worked with a few trusted consultants on our projects before teaming up with PGE. Once they joined PGE, it was easy for us to become PGE customers. The PGE team has highly skilled professionals with wide technical knowledge, which built a solid foundation of trust for our partnership,” says Eero Vehka-aho, Project Development Manager at Enordic Evergreen.
Kaunolan Sähkövarasto Oy, battery energy storage system and substation construction site
PGE served as Owner’s Engineer, providing technical support for Kaunolan Sähkövarasto Oy’s battery energy storage project, owned by Enordic Evergreen. PGE managed technical consulting services, including safety coordination and contractor supervision on site. The project features a 30 MW / 30 MWh battery energy storage facility that ensures reliable electricity system balancing.

PGE supported Enordic Evergreen as Owner’s Engineer in preparing and technically evaluating procurements, ensuring high-quality contracts and a smooth implementation. PGE strengthened the client’s position and enhanced project delivery certainty.
“PGE’s role as owner’s engineer and technical support highlights their ability to provide technical expertise to an investment company like ours, which primarily acquires turnkey packages and lacks strong internal technical resources. As a technical consultant, PGE brings a broad range of expertise essential for high-quality implementation,” says Eero Vehka-aho.
PGE was responsible for safety coordination in the project. In a demanding environment, safety management, risk identification, and ensuring contractors’ safety plans were adequate played an important role. PGE reviewed the plans on behalf of the client to ensure the solutions were safe to use and maintain. During site supervision, PGE carried out legally required supervisory tasks and ensured the agreed solutions were implemented with high quality and minimal risk.
“From the very beginning, PGE reviewed the initial offers to make sure the technical plans would allow for high-quality work on schedule. PGE has served as a technical supervisor and owner’s consultant, and most importantly, has been very active on site, making sure everything meets high standards with practical solutions. This hands-on approach helped speed up the project,” says Eero Vehka-aho.
